I started rowing in high school ... more or less by accident because I needed a sport and didn't want to play football or run track or cross country. Little did I know that in the end I'd be running a lot more than those guys, and row on top of it all, often at 5am. Somehow all this wasn't enough to turn me away.
After 2 years of rowing in high school, I rowed for one more semester in college ... until it was either practice 6 days a week for several hours or taking interesting classes and getting something out of my time there and for my money.
After over 5 years without rowing, I finally found a place to get back into it here in Pittsburgh. I started out as an unaffiliated rower in the Summer Corporate Rowing League, got drafted into CEC's team the first week and rowed with them for the rest of the season. It was a lot of fun, I met some great people, and that's when my addiction slowly began to develop.
Since the beginning of 2007, I'm part of the Mixed Masters program at TRRA, training 3 days a week and absolutely loving it!
