I am considering a career in biomedical brain research, and to that end I seek research experience to accompany the degree I am pursuing. I am currently looking to explore the latest research in biomedicine and health care via a summer position at an established heath service company or institution.
University of Pennsylvania, College of Arts & Sciences.
- I expect to graduate May, 2000.
- Currently I am a candidate for a BA with majors in Biological Basis of Behavior and Psychology, including a balanced Pre-Medical curriculum.
- At the completion of the 1996-1997 academic year I will have Junior standing (sixteen credits).
- My GPA is 3.0 as of January 1997, including General Honors coursework through the Benjamin Franklin Scholars program.

Monitor, Unit for Experimental Psychiatry at Penn.
- I monitored, tested, and observed subjects in sleep-deprivation experiments using computer bouts and EEG data.
- I performed basic clerical tasks and literature searches.
- The position was facilitated by a Federal Work-Study grant.
Customer Service Associate, K-Mart Corporation.
- I addressed customer questions and complaints
- I operated the check-out counter
- I stocked and organized merchandise.
- I facilitated reorganization of departments during the refurbishment of the store.
Circulation Assistant, Tredyffrin Public Library.
- I worked the circulation desk and shelved books.
- I assisted patrons with browsing and searching the world wide web

- I wrote columns on local high school and college athletic teams.
ADDITIONAL LANGUAGES AND SPECIAL SKILLS:
I have near-fluency in German, both written and spoken. I am proficient in web page production and design, Microsoft Office, and Adobe PhotoShop.
SPECIAL INTERESTS AND ACTIVITIES:
My favorite activity is acting; I am happiest when I am on the stage. Running also takes a good deal of my time, and I hope to run in a marathon someday. If I ever get the chance, I love to read a good mystery or science fiction novel.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:

- I am a member of the International Affairs Association, which hosts and participates in several Model United Nations conferences, in addition to discussing international issues.
Radnor High School:
- I was President of the Model United Nations Club and a member for three years.
- I participated in Cross Country, Indoor Track (Captain for two years), and Spring Track and Field for four years with ten varsity letters.
- I acted in six plays as a member of the Radnor Actors Workshop.
- I was a member of the German Club.
VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE:
At Radnor High School I was President of the Global Awareness Committee, which helped alleviate social problems in the community and throughout the world. Some of our activities included food drives, an AIDS awareness week, letter writing for Amnesty International, and the annual PeaceFest, where bands, organizations, and students could all come together to learn about social problems in need of resolution.
