Following on from the Copenhagen summit, the EU and UN have given the Cypriot communities until 28th February to sign a peace agreement.
After the events in the north of Cyprus where record numbers of Cypriots turned out to demonstrate for peace and a solution to the Cyprus problem, a group of London Cypriots have come together to organise a peace rally in North London. The event will be held at Ducketts Common, Turnpike Lane and people are expected to arrive at 2.00pm on the 16th of February 2003, and the climax of the event is expected to be between 4pm – 6pm.

The event will include art installations by various Cypriot artists and speakers that are yet to be confirmed.
Outside of Cyprus the largest Cypriot community in the world resides in London. This will be the first major bi-communal peace event in the history of the London Cypriot community and it comes at a critical time with regard to the future of the island.

This event has drawn support from politicians, councillors and the main London Cypriot organisations. There has been strong and initial support from Haringey Council and many international peace organisations familiar with the Cyprus problem have also offered their support for this unique initiative.
