One could follow the statements within few days of each other and get a picture of what has been going on in the last couple of decades. It is a cyclic repetition. This time "do not mix politics into the issue" is the motto of the Turkish Cypriot side. Ofcourse, you need to turn off your alert system that is triggered by the incomprehensible translation.

" ERÇAKICA: IT IS WRONG TO POLITICISE MISSING PERSONS ISSUE

Spokesman of the Presidency Hasan Erçakýca stated that President
Mehmet Ali Talat was ready to meet with the Greek Cypriot
Administration leader Tasos Papadopulos under all conditions, but
negotiating and politicising missing persons issue would only support
the efforts, but it would not go further.

Moreover, Erçakýca stated that it was wrong to look for a solution by
getting the Cyprus issue, which is very complicated to pieces, and
benefits could be balanced by a comprehensive solution.

Stressing that UN stands on solution step by step formula which aims
to constitute a confidence between the two communities again, Erçakýca
said that Turkish Cypriots were ready to approve and join to the other
efforts which would make the two communities come closer and make the
political atmosphere ready for a comprehensive solution.
