"Are you Being Served?"
I came accross an article titled "Are you being served?" by David R Henderson at an extremely interesting web-site (more like a blog) www.myantiwar.org . I wanted to point out this viewpoint so I replicate it below. The comments on "military service" are of particular interest. It is interesting to note that in Turkish, specially in Republic of Turkey, "askerlik odevi" (military duty) is the more common way of refering to that act. Another sign (popular in many countries I gather) that it really is not a service to the public but it is a duty of the public for the government.

A series of Articles on Spanish Civil war (Ispanyol Sivil Savasi ile ilgili)
I am going to post a series of articles that begun appearing in an alternative Turkish (internet) newspaper, Sesonline.Net, about the Spanish civil war on the occasion of its 70th aniversary. The articles are in Turkish and I have recently became interested in the topic.

An Interview with Hovard Zinn
Hovard Zinn has been an inspiration to me. I found his views on non-violence, civil disobedience and most importantly his work on alternative history that is very well documented be of close relevance to missing political activism in mainstream Cypriot politics. I am pasting a recent interview with Zinn. He is again quite clear about his points. I had commented about his writings on civil disobedience and his historical work on many occasions in my articles in Hamamboculeri.Org:

Then There is Only One Thing To Do! by Wolfgang Borchert (1947)
I was browsing "Savaskarsitlari.org" which is a major Turkish anti-militarist site with excellent content and has been kept upto date for many years.
