EDUCATION

University of Pennsylvania
Philadelphia, Pa
1996-present (link)

I am currently a junior Computer Science major in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. I intend to submatriculate in Computer and Information Science, and most of my work is currently at the masters level.
I am also pursuing a minor in Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Buckingham Browne and Nichols School
Cambridge, Ma

Children's Hospital Informatics Program
Boston, Ma
Summer 1996 (link)

As a Java programmer on the informatics program, I developed a client/server based system of "smart-forms" in Java. The project, which lasted 3 months, involved programming for the Internet in Java, CGI and HTML, as well as use of various SQL databases and encryption techniques.

Independent Computer Consultant
Marblehead, Ma

As an independent consultant for the last four years, I have been involved in a number of projects. I programmed a prescription tracking database in C for Pulmonary Associates of Greater Boston. The majority of my work has been teaching computer skills, especially on windows and Macintosh machines, to individuals.

I currently work on the Switchware project. My partner and I are developing an operating system for the Secure Active Network Environment (SANE). The details can be found on the Switchware and SANE/OS pages.

At the college level, I have completed or am currently enrolled in the following courses relevant to computer science:

CIS 535: Computational Biology.
CIS 520: Aritficial Intelligence
TCOM 501: Networking - Theory and Fundamentals
CSE 400/401: Senior Design (SANE/OS work)
CSE 380: Operating Systems
CSE 371: Digital System Organization and Design
CSE 350: Software Design/Engineering
CSE 260, 261, 262: Mathematical Bases of Computer Science
CSE 240: Sparc Assembly and C programming
CSE 220: Algorithms
CSE 180: XWindows Programming

Information about specific courses can be found via the Computer Science Department web page or the course register for CSE,CIS or TCOM.

INTERESTS AND ACTIVITIES

Theater Work
At the University of Pennsylvania, I participate actively in the theater community. For the 1998-199 Academic year, I am the Chair of Quadramics, Penn's largest entirely student run theater group.
Apart from managerial positions, I work extensively in all aspects of technical theater, primarily in set construction and carpentry. I also work in lighting. I have started learning various simulation packages, and have been working on modelling sets with Autocad and Radiance.

HOBBIES

As an independent programmer, I have written a number of programs, especially games and utilities, in a variety of languages from Basic to C++ to Java. My current project is a multi-player MUD written in Java.
