At the end of Margaret's and my roadtrip, mom and dad flew in to Berkeley to help her settle in. This is me in Napa Valley on a tour of Cakebread Vineyards. |
Margaret is also taking a picture in the room of barrels. It was cold in there; they keep it consistenly at 57 degrees, since that is best for wine fermentation. |
These are some grapes on the vine. We got to taste them on the tour, which also had a wine-tasting at the end. |
In San Francisco, we went to a popular touristy show called "Beach Blanket Babylon." They change the show up every year because the show involves the use of current events, but one thing they always keep is that characters wear huge hats. This is the "San Francisco" hat. |
On our roadtrip from New Haven, CT to Greensboro, AL to San Antonio, TX, Margaret and I stopped in Virginia at the "Endless Caverns." |
Just before this roadtrip took place, we all went on a family vacation to Toronto and Niagra Falls. This is a picture of the falls. |
My Dad and I went to London right after I got back from school in May of 2001. This is a picture of him in the British Museum. |
A picture from the top of a bus in London. This is Oxford Street, where there was a Gap practically every block...! |
One thing that I always liked about London was the underground. Just recently they put in an extension to the Jubilee line, so we went to look at some of the new and remodeled stations along that route. This is Canada Water. |
Another new tube stop: Canary Wharf. |
A view of the Thames |

In the summer 2000, our family went on a weekend roadtrip to western Pennsylvania and saw a few things over there. This is what it was like where we were, about an hour southwest of Pittsuburgh, in Mill Run, PA. |
The first thing we saw was the famous Frank Lloyd Wright house called "Falling Water". |
The house is situated literally on a waterfall, and it is build out over a rock. The supports you see in this photo are just there for repair. Normally the house hovers above the water on its own. The stairs in this picture go straight from the living room to the water below. The house was so famouse because it was built in the 30's, and the design was way ahead of its time. |
That same day we went to see another Wright house from the area, pictured here. The house wasn't quite as spectacular, but far more practical. |
On the other day of our trip, we went to Johnstown, PA, because in high school I wrote a term paper on the Johnstown Flood of 1889, which took the lives of about 3000 people. Here I'm pictured at the site of the old dam, and across the way is the other side of the broken dam. |
This is the famous "clubhouse" from the Johnstown flood. My mom is that little speck standing on the porch. |
On the way back home, we stopped in Hershey, PA. I love chocolate. |
