Roadtrip with Kate

During our senior year, Kate and I decided we would go on a roadtrip when we graduated from college. So, for the last two weeks of June, we drove down to North Carolina, across Tennesse, up to Chicago via St Louis, and then back home, visiting practically everything there was to see on the way.
Shenandoah National Park We started off on the first day driving from Philadelphia to Noth Carolina. On the way, we went through Shenandoah National Park. It was kind of foggy that day, but still beautiful.

Kate and me Kate and me in Natural Bridge, VA.

Natural Bridge This is Natural Bridge. It is a big rock that was hollowed out by the river running under it, making a natural bridge. The bridge is very strong--a highway even runs over it!

Biltmore Estate The next day we went to the largest mansion in America, the Biltmore Estate. It was very over the top! They even had a winery on the property.

Great Smokey Mountain Park Great Smokey Mountain Park
"The most photographed view in the Smokies," so the sign says.

trail Part of our trail through Great Smokey National Park. It was simply gorgeous.

Arkansas A rest stop in Arkansas had a store called "Boomland" that sold fireworks. I found this funny (as it was right next to the gas station) so I took this picture.

Mammoth Cave We took a detour in to Kentucky to see the Mammoth Caves. This picture just doesn't do it justice.

Kate at the Corvette Museum On the way back to Tennesse, we stopped at the Corvette museum. That was fun.

Memphis After Kentucky, we went to Nashville and Memphis. This is a picture of a band we saw two nights on Beale St in Memphis. They were so good.

Graceland Kate and me outside Elvis' mansion at Graceland.

Drumset at Sun Studio I'm testing out the drum set at the famous Sun Studios.

Boomland After Tennesse, we went to Chicago, via St Louis. This was a random rest stop in Arkansas that sold fireworks. I found that amusing so I took a picture. We took pictures in St Louis from the arch, but it was evening so they did not come out.

Pride Parade In Chicago, we visited Christy. She took us to the "Pride Parade" which was a whole lot of fun. This is one of the floats.

Another thing we did was go to Navy Pier. There was a ferris wheel out there, so we got to see a beautiful view of Chicago. Too bad Christy is afraid of heights!

Sears tower Kate and I went up to the top of the Sears tower on the morning that we left Chicago.
