NCAA Men's basketball tournament, 2000

When our men's basketball team went undefeated (14-0) in the Ivy league, they earned a spot in the NCAA tournament. I was one of 30 lucky band members who got to follow them there to play at the game. It was only one game, since we lost in the first round, but it was a fun trip anyway.

NCAA Men's basketball tournament, 2002

This year's NCAA slot was much harder to earn. The Ivy League went up from being ranked 28 or so in all of the leagues to being ranked 13 (above average!) in the Div I leagues. So, our opponents got tougher. Also, we started our Ivy season at 2-3. From then on out, though, we were undefeated, and we ended up forcing a 3-way tie for the title against Yale and Princeton. They played each other in the first round of a play-off, and then we demolished Yale. Finally, we earned an 11 seed in the tournament (better than the 2000 seed of 14) but we lost to Berkeley. Pittsburgh was much more fun that Winston Salem, though!

Primanti Brothers Some of us went to the "authentic" sandwich place called Primanti Brothers. It was quite good!
