Spring 2002

The spring semester is a picture-full semester. It started off with Shweta's birthday party in the first week of school (after a ridiculously short winter break), and continued on to be a semester full of extra-curricular activity overload. First I was elected to be the new Treasurer of SCUE, then I worked very hard to put on a show for Soundworks, and finally I went on the NCAA men's basketball tournament trip to Pittsburgh. After spring break, I was inducted into the Sphinx Senior Society because of my leadership...I was extremely honored, because I didn't realize I was a leader. The semester ended with Spring Fling and Hey Day: my Hey Day! There were so many pictures from that that I gave it its own page. Definitely an action-packed semester!

new steering committee After being elected to the SCUE steering committee, the new and old steering committees went to Pod to celebrate. This is the new committee: Phil (secretary), me (treasurer), Jacob (Chair), David (Vice-Chair), Max (at-large) and Naeema (at-large).

Emily Sachs performers These are the people who performed at the Emily Sachs (dance) benefit: Mary, Andrea, Daphnee, Jenea, Afia and Mike. I came along to watch.
End of the Year Party Along with the new year comes the annual "End of the Year" band party. This is Anthony sitting on the floor as the awards were given out.
Drummers sweep...again These are all of the drummers who won awards at the party. Last year our entire section won an award, including Kellen from the strings section. This year, we did pretty well again. Laura is holding up the award that actually went to the bass drum for getting banged up all the time. Nicole received the annual melons award (3 drummers in a row now!), Lamiya got the "Clarissa Fesler verbosity award", and I received an award for having tap danced the cadence.
Soundworks This is the soundworks company, after our "Rhythmic Collision" show.
Get Your Freak On These are the dancers from Andrea's dance that was to "Get Your Freak On." It was probably my favorite dance.
Band shiskabob stand Just as we do every year, the band sold shishkabobs this year in the quad during spring fling. I had a pretty fun fling, but my weekend was more productive than it was action-packed, as I had a lot of end-of-term work to complete.
Seniors On my way to a band party in A702, I ran into Haig going into his 1st floor Hamilton Court apartment. He invited me in, so I decided to hang out for a while before going to the band party. We played a drinking game version of hangman. It was nice to see everyone before they graduated!

Sphinx '02 So, I'm in this group called "Sphinx" for senior student leaders. These are all of the outgoing '02 members.
Sphinx '03 Sphinx '03! We all received our pins and certificates this day at the end of the year banquet.
Over the summer (but it was still May, so I'm putting this here) I went to hang out with the new graduates who were still in Hamilton Court. I can't believe they're gone now!
