Members present: Maria, Leigh, Heather, Christina.
Although this meeting was originally planned to be similar to our December meeting (structured as open, followed by a welcoming ritual), it was decided beforehand that we will hold such a meeting later this semester. Classes had just resumed two days before this meeting, and therefore it was decided that we could better advertise an upcoming meeting if we had more time to make and distribute flyers and get the word out otherwise.
Our open meeting will be planned for Wednesday, February 2 at 8 pm. Although this will serve as a welcoming meeting for any new members, we will also be able to celebrate Imbolc/Brigid together for anyone who would like to join us. News of the meeting will be distributed to various newsgroups, the Broom Closet, DVPN, and assorted pagans that we know in the area/in Philadelphia, especially the Silver Dragon Circle. Leigh will make up the flyers, and will check to see whether or not she can find a bright-colored paper for this purpose. The after-meeting ritual will consist of a lighting of the lamps, a welcoming, and the opening up of energy.
It was reiterated that our officers in order to become an official group must be undergraduates. Our constitution-creating meeting can be held at Leigh's apartment sometime in February- possibly the 12th, the 19th, or the 28th. These are all Saturday dates- it was also suggested that we could meet on a Friday afternoon at 5, which was just as, if not more, agreeable than meeting on a weekend.
It was suggested that we hold a health/psychic fair- perhaps in conjunction with other pagan groups in Philadelphia, especially Drexel's Silver Dragon Circle, but also DVPN and Philadelphia Pagans. We would like to do something for Beltaine, but may be very limited due to final exams.
The flyers for the open meeting will once again be posted on campus, and will also be given to local pagans, as well as to occult shops downtown. Although this is primarily a student organization, we would like to be sure that it remains open to faculty, staff, and people who live in the University City area.
