Meeting Minutes for February 2, 2000

Members present: Grant, Maria, Christina, Heather, Leigh.

Our upcoming Brigid party was discussed. It will be held at Grant's house, and we will ask people to e-mail or phone him for more information. It will be held on Saturday, February 13. We will gather from 2-3, have a ritual at 4, potluck dinner at 5, and poems, drumming, and song afterwards. Information about this ritual will be distributed to local pagan groups, such as DVPN, the Philadelphia Pagan Meeting folk, and the Silver Dragon Circle, along with any others we know that may be interested.

Maria discussed her general plan for the Brigid ritual: chanting, directions, invocation, the body of the ritual (focused intent), raising energy, and sending it. Perhaps besides a focus on Brigid Herself, we might also like to focus on how the area pagans want to see the community grow. The five of us will arrive early for the ritual to help plan everything out.

Other opportunities to come: making ourselves known on campus. Something in spring may be a possibility, but we might like to enlist the help of other area pagan groups. This might be something to bring up at the Brigid party. Hopefully by the fall we will be able to work with other groups on campus to increase our visibility. Our general cause is to help others; perhaps we can easily find like-minded (and open-minded) groups at Penn.

A date for the next meeting was not yet set; we will determine this at a later time.

The meeting then went outdoors for an hour-long celebration of Brigid in the snow, lit with candles and incense and full of the Lady's love.
