What is PENNPagans about?

Our mission statement:

PENNPagans is a student-run organization at the University of Pennsylvania that serves as a gathering for local students, faculty, and staff that are interested in any aspect of paganism. Interests include, but are not limited to, Druidism, Wicca, Asatru, OTO, Shamanism, New Age Spirituality, and the practice of magick in general. Our goals are as follows:
       -To bring together pagan students at PENN
       -To support the pagan community, both on and off campus
       -To help educate the PENN community as a whole about paganism
       -To network with other pagan groups, both within other universities and within the Delaware Valley
       -To promote tolerance among ALL religions


Our constitution:

Article I--Name of the Group
The name of this group will be PENNPagans.

Article II--Purpose
PENNPagans aims to establish a long-standing supportive pagan organization at the University of Pennsylvania.
The goals of PENNPagans are as follows:
       -To bring together pagan students at PENN
       -To support the pagan community, both on and off campus
       -To help educate the PENN community as a whole about paganism
       -To network with other pagan groups, both within other universities and within the Delaware Valley
       -To promote tolerance among ALL religions

Article III--Officers
The officers of PENNPagans will be selected on a yearly basis by the group members. All members of PENNPagans, however, will hold equal stature within the group. The positions for the organization are as follows:
1. Business coordinator. Organizes business meetings and activities on campus.
2. Secretary. Records meeting minutes, alerts members of meetings, responsible for upkeep of group website, provides responses to inquiries about the group.
3. Treasurer. Will handle group finances and other monetary issues.
4. Historian. Will keep records of information, meetings, and activities.

Article IV--Membership
PENNPagans will be open to all PENN students that are currently practicing any form of paganism, or to any students that are interested in such practices. The majority of the organization's members will consist of undergraduates at PENN, although graduate students, faculty, and staff are also welcome to attend meetings and activities.

Article V--Meetings
Meetings will be held at least once a month, at a time and place to be determined by the officers.

Article VI--Finances
All financial resources and expenses of PENNPagans shall be maintained and distributed by the Treasurer, who shall be in compliance with University, city, state, and federal guidelines concerning transactions.

Article VII--Amendment
This constitution may be amended as seen fit by the members of PENNPagans. Any amendments must be introduced at a scheduled meeting, and will be discussed and decided upon at the following month's meeting. Three-fourths of the vote of the members of PENNPagans is necessary to carry an amendment.

Article VIII--Constitution
This constitution shall be in effect, superseding all previous constitutions, when approved by the majority (three-fourths) of the organization's membership.
