Governor/General

Rebellion starts in tired hands
A broken back stands tall
Outlawed thoughts ebb freely
No longer repressed by the cage of bigotry
Liberation bursts with merciless fury
Whipping hands are twisted back
Cruel oppressors on bended knee
Lick the boots of indentured labor
Tasting the dust of his toil
Freedom
Dignity
Glory
Risen up on the eagle's wings

Corrosion starts in a paranoid mind
Scrutinizing eyes search out betrayal
Beliefs convoluted by single-minded vengeance
Convictions buried beneath insipid destruction
His anxious spirit abandons hope
Conquered by inevitable defeat
Emptied monuments crumble
Hollowed promises dissolve
Scattered shards of a worthy cause
Subjugation
Destitute
Ruin
Leveled by the vulture's beak
