E-Frame Technical Files

This is intended to become a Technical Files page for the E-Frames of ExoSquad. It isn't close to being finished, but multiple requests for such information both to myself in e-mails and to the mailing list has caused me to make this page available despite its incomplete form. As always, additions, suggestions, and corrections are welcome and appreciated.

Currently most of the information is taken from the toys, so there may be some inconsistencies compared to the show. The different versions are something I hope to reconcile by the time the pages are complete.

Items marked with Algup indicate that this particular feature was an Algernon Upgrade, i.e. in the TV show was an invention of Professor Algernon's that was added to that particular model e-frame.

Troop Transport E-Frame #AL-002 Amphibious Assault Exoframe model #: AA-569 Neo HoverTank

Said to have 18 inches of Plas-steel armor all around, with double redundant backups on the drive train and weapons. Capable of sustained straightahead speeds up to 200 kph (kilometers per hour). Use thrusters on the underside, with nothing in contact with the ground instead moving about a foot or so above it.

[In case you haven't guessed, these things are tough and difficult to destroy. But they are restricted to the ground and if they do not have air cover they can be vulnerable targets to opposing e-frames. Despite their forward speed, they do not seem particularly maneuverable.]

Fightercraft/Small Spacecraft

ExoFleet

ExoFighter Space E-Frame #CR-001 Pirate Fighter

ExoFleet scouts

Rely more on durability than speed, and seem larger than would be expected for a scout craft. Perhaps designed more for extended deep-space exploration than a mission-specific search.

Neo sapien e-frames

NeoFighter Space E-Frame #EL-909

Neo scouts

Faster than anything but an e-frame these are typically used for scouting the vastness of space for a Neo fleet. They are not very durable, nor do they have good long-range communications.

Neo Outriders, Sloop Class

Heavily armored with a couple guns, and fairly quick, these were only seen in one episode in outer space defending Mars from an approaching scout ship. Why they were not seen again is questionable. Most likely their weaponry was inadequte (lack of missiles, and the guns don't do much damage) and/or they lacked the range necessary for more than planetary defense. Probably used as an advance guard to deal with minor threats, call in for help with larger ones.

Neo sapien

Infantryman

The genetically advanced Neo warriors were unable to be developed until the final stages of the war, and even then not in large numbers. So the existance of a Neo sapien infantry was important. Perhaps because a Neo sapien is stronger than the typical human, it may be that they are capable of wearing heavier armor, and carrying heavier weapons.

Although that is never stated explicitly, it seems obvious from times that a company of Neo troops can hold a couple e-frames to a standstill, while ExoFleet issued hand blasters do little damage to Neo frames.

But a Neo infantryman seems to only have body armor and a blaster, not the complete technological outfit with jet packs and thrusters and an array of weaponry, including grenades and missiles, that a ExoFleet JumpTrooper does.
