Calvin N' Hobbes Dancin' "Don't forget the songs
That made you cry
And the songs that saved your life
Yes you're older now
And you're a clever swine
But they were the only ones who ever stood beside you"

  bandpages
My Own Listing: There are many, many bands that i have in my cd collection. Herein lies a listing of most of them with links to web sites that can give you some more info.
  music news, etc.
Pitchforkmedia.com: Tons of reviews, articles, news...You could spend hours here. A good place to go for well-balanced reviews and news on bands that make good music moreso than shiting units.
NME: New Music Express: This is the online version of one of the most widely read music publications in the UK. They tend to be eternally over-hyping things a bit, They also tend to be the first people with information on any of the bands from the UK as well.
excellent online: The "Home for North American Fans of UK Music." Wonderful organization with lots of great information here: release dates, news, tours, reviews, etc.
Jam! Music: This Canadian page has news, album reviews, chart information and LOTS of other cool stuff.
VH1 News: It's not entirely surprising to find goog bits and piece of news here.
Rolling Stone Album Reviews: The reviews taken directly out of Rolling Stone magazine for most of the latest albums released. Also, check out the Rolling Stone Main Page for news, access to archives, and a lot more.
dotmusic.com: One of the UK's most comprehensive music sites.
Rock Spot: Made by Lyn Kratz, who used to DJ at WMMR in Philly and works at Van Pelt Library now!
Billboard: Music news from an "industry" slant, which - to me - means mostly commercial music. The US chart listings are here also.
Top Of The Pops: Find out what is happening in the UK Charts. A rough equivalent of the US Billboard and run by the BBC.
  concert info
Pollstar: This is the premiere database for touring information of any artist.
TicketMaster Online: For the record, I HATE these guys with their lame services charges, and countless other annoyances, but there is some useful information on this site. There are seating charts for venues and other useful information if you are looking to go to a show in another city.
Clear Channel Entertainment: These guy tend to sponsor more and more concerts these days. Their page tend to have more information about what concerts go on sale when, prices, and anything else you would need to know. Much more information than other sites that do the same thing... BUT keep in mind there are lots of reasons why Clear Channel Sucks
Gig-A-Byte Performance Search: This is a really great database for Philadelphia area shows. This site includes daily listings of shows, shows for a particular venue, links to maps of a venue, and a lot of other useful up-to-date information.
Electric Factory: Information about concerts in the Philadelphia area
The Trocadero: The best place to see a show in Philadelphia now has their own cite.
  radio stations
BRS Radio Directory: This is a great site to find any and all radio stations in the US and beyond, at least those that have a presence on the Web.
WPXN - User Supported Radio This station is by far an excellent example of what modern radio can and should be. Operating out of the University Of Pennsylvania's campus, this station runs on listener support. They consistently have a way of bringing fresh and exicting music from many genres as well as mixing in well established, critically aclaimed artists. XPN is actually one of the few radio stations that does not underestimate its listeners. XPn also sponsors many local shows and artists.
Y-100: This station brings you what could call "Modern Rock" format. They are farily reliable on bringing you the more commercially accepted "Alternative" hits out there. Check out their Sunday night show called ""Y Not" that give you local Philly artists as well as other alternative/indie artists that might not make it to normal daytime radio.
